The grind of laying out a design concept for the new Whispering Winds has finally slowed itself, and it is refreshing to take a look out from the land point for the sim and see the fruits of the labor.

Shaylin, my wife, wanted the new look to have a more plush feel than the previous incarnation.  I took plush to mean verdant, textured, where no matter where you looked there would always be a quality object or texture staring you back.  My previous sim design experience lies in the area of forests, mountains and woods, and so I felt it would be a great match.  Well-textured, flowering (and in some cases, billowing in the wind) trees, quality flowers, and a flow from one area to another.

I'm going to attempt to focus on a daily aspect of Whispering Winds, and the companion sim, The Woods Of Marathon Caye, in an attempt to show the builds, landscaping, and activities that make them unique to Second Life.  It is also opportunity to show you, the Second Life public, why these two sims might make a delightful excursion point for your explorations.

Shaylin wanted a building that made a statement when you landed but still afforded an excellent view of the build from the outset.  We've both been fans of the builds from Rebourne.  We chose their build called The Dome. With a minimal amount of modding, we found it to fit in perfectly and provide a central location, with a broad view of the sim through its multi-paned, spherical window design.

New York, New York & More Fishing.

 Taylee and I were involved in a video shoot today, where I will be featured singing New York, New York.

I'm also taking an interest in WZW fishing.  To the right you can me pictured with a 5kg Cod.  We threw them back in at Mumford Cove to see if they stay.

Weekend Activities, Fishing and Sailing :)

This weekend was spent with Taylee on a number of activities, both on Marathon Caye and in Sailor's Cove, where we have our home away from home.  We have been experimenting with a new fishing system called WZW.  It is supposed to be as close to the actual RL sport of fishing as you can get, so far anyway.  I caught a few, then showed Tay.  I think we're going to try and see what can be done to get some fish put in Marathon Caye.  We also picked up yet ANOTHER new boat.  This one is a SlipJack Nantucket fishing boat.  Nice detail, and yes, Taylee and I are embracing MESH.  So for all you haters out there.  Don't knock it till you TRY IT!!

Chimp in a suit! (From Grove Stream Park on Monday night)

Back by popular demand (and because we finally had a venue that he would fit in,) Kong returns during (and after) I sing Chimp In A Suit from the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.  There are some really fun shots of Kong post-concert.

Storm Front joins me at Smooth Jazz

 Storm Front Jazz (Gwen on Bass, Mr. G on drums, Cuthbert on Tenor Sax, Ambiente on Trumpet, and Luigi on Piano) joined me at my Thursday evening concert at Smooth Jazz.  The pic was taken during the energetic Swing Set!

Storm Front Jazz joins Cranston at Torino

 Taylee and I had a couple of friends join us at Torino Vera today for a really fun concert.  Gwendolyn Jenvieve and Mr. Gavenkrantz provided superb backup while I sang this afternoon.

Torino Vera is a concert I do every Monday at 1PM.  Come on out next time for a fun afternoon.  Casual attire.
